Marjorie Taylor Greene slams Twitter for allowing threatening anti-GOP tweets after Ginsburg death

Georgia Republican congressional candidate Marjorie Taylor Greene slammed Twitter for allowing tweets promoting violence from several verified Twitter accounts while censoring posts from conservatives.

“Thousands of threats of violence & riots, like this, were made last night by leftists,” Greene tweeted Saturday morning in response to tweets from former CNN host Reza Aslan and others promoting violence if Republicans move to fill the Supreme Court seat recently vacated by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death at age 87. “Not a single one of the accounts were banned or suspended. But Twitter will take action against me for holding a gun in a picture? When I get to Congress I will hold Big Tech ACCOUNTABLE!”

Greene posted screenshots of several liberals on Twitter posting violence-themed tweets and asked again why there was no response from the social media giant.

“Hey @twitter, Why do you censor and ban conservatives for sharing their beliefs but allow these violent, radical Democrats to threaten violence and TERRORISM on your site?” Greene tweeted.

“Over our dead bodies. Literally,” Aslan tweeted Friday night to his followers in response to reports that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell would move forward to replace Ginsburg before the election.

“If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the entire f—ing thing down,” he added.

Greene, who is running to represent Georgia’s 14th Congressional District in November, told the Washington Examiner that Aslan’s comments represent a pattern.

“Every time the Left doesn’t get what they want, they threaten to riot, loot, and destroy everything in their path,” Greene said. “It’s a pattern with socialists and why Republicans need to be strong and not cave to these threats.”

Earlier this month, Greene was suspended from Twitter for a post questioning the effectiveness of face masks to stop the spread of coronavirus, specifically in children.

In June, Facebook removed Greene’s campaign video holding a legally owned AR-15, claiming that the ad violates the company’s “advertising policies on Weapons, Ammunition, & Explosives.”

Over the past few years, conservatives have criticized Twitter over a perceived bias against their political beliefs exacerbated by actions taken against prominent conservative accounts such as President Trump, Donald Trump Jr., actor James Woods, political commentator Candace Owens, and many others.

Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment as to whether or not Aslan’s tweets violated the company’s terms of service.
