Bloomberg on Elizabeth Warren: ‘I didn’t realize she’s still in. Is she?’

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg claims to have forgotten Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts was still in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Ahead of the Super Tuesday elections, the billionaire was questioned by a reporter who asked him he’d be satisfied with a third-place finish, dismissing the threat Warren posed to his campaign.

“Would a third-place finish be good?” the reporter asked. “If there’s only three candidates, you can’t do worse than that,” Bloomberg responded. “Well, there is Elizabeth Warren also,” the reporter corrected him. He responded, “I didn’t realize she’s still in. Is she?”

The billionaire ex-mayor was campaigning in Florida ahead of its March 17 primary, which offers Democratic candidates 219 pledged delegates. The latest poll shows increased momentum for Bloomberg and declining support for former Vice President Joe Biden in the state. Recent endorsements for Biden from former presidential contenders such as former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, and Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke leave the outcome uncertain.

Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard also remains in the presidential primary race, though she polls last in most surveys, according to the RealClearPolitics average.
