Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley touted the newly formed ‘Freedom Squad’ made up of Republican women in Congress and told Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to “move over.”
“Move over AOC, meet @NMalliotakis, a descendent of Cuban immigrants who experienced the dangers of communism and socialism up-close, who has started the Freedom Squad,” Haley tweeted Friday. “Joining her are @CarlosGimenezFL, @MaElviraSalazar, & @Victoria_Spartz. We welcome the Freedom Squad to DC!”

The newly elected congresswomen all have family ties to socialist regimes and have been referred to as the “Freedom Squad,” positioning the group as a counterbalance to the “Squad” of progressive members of Congress, which includes Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Ilhan Omar.
“An anti-socialist squad is forming,” Nicole Malliotakis, whose mother is Cuban, tweeted shortly after several Republican women won House seats in the election earlier this month.

“We need to form our own ‘squad,’” Malliotakis told the New York Post. “We have a group of new Republicans who love America. We value freedom, liberty, and opportunity.”
