VIDEO: Teacher violently assaults student, leading to felony charges

A substitute teacher in Kyle, Texas, was charged with aggravated assault after being caught beating a student on camera.

Lehman High School substitute Spanish teacher Tiffani Shadell Lankford was filmed punching and stomping on a 15-year-old student after pulling her from her desk and tossing her on the ground.

Lankford, 32, was fired by the school after the student was hospitalized following the beating.

In a statement, the school noted that they reported Lankford to the Texas Education Agency following her arrest.

“We take the safety and security of our students seriously,” Principal Karen Zuniga wrote in a Facebook post. “We took swift action when this incident occurred and will do everything necessary to protect our students.”

Lankford had worked in the district 18 times prior to the assault on Friday. A school spokesperson said the district was unaware of what sparked the violent attack.

The student was released from the hospital on Friday according to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office
