Suspect sought in gas station robbery

Anne Arundel police are searching for the suspect in an armed robbery at a Fort Meade Shell gas station.

The suspect asked the clerk for a pack of cigarettes Saturday at the Shell station on Annapolis Road in Hanover, police said. 

When the clerk placed the item on the counter, the suspect reached into the cash register and attempted to remove the money. The clerk resisted, but the suspect pulled a handgun out of his waistband and pointed it at the clerk, police said.
