The Montgomery County Council will review County Executive Ike Leggett’s proposal on Tuesday to generate roughly $2.7 million annually by raising Ride On bus fares and parking rates in Bethesda and Silver Spring.
Leggett’s proposal would increase monthly Ride On bus fees from $30 to $45 countywide and would raise parking rates by 10 cents an hour in Bethesda and Silver Spring, as well as begin charging for Saturday parking in Bethesda.
The council also will consider a resolution that would ban smoking in certain public areas, including playgrounds.
