Hot start to school year
A school bus caught fire en route to the first day of class at Whitman High School on Monday in Potomac. Nobody was injured and no harm was caused, unless students were upset that the bus was a tad late to pick themup on the first day back from summer vacation. Montgomery County fire officials say the bus caught fire at about 6:30 a.m. Monday on Falls Road in Potomac, right in front of a fire station, and the flames were quickly doused. Investigators suspect an engine malfunction caused the fire. – Kathleen Miller
