Jane Sanders: Nobody’s talking about Hillary’s attacks hurting Bernie as nominee

Jane Sanders, the wife of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, told MSNBC on Friday she wants to know why the media are not talking about the negative effect Hillary Clinton’s attacks could have on him if he wins the nomination.

While Sanders said the press has focused on the ramifications of her husband’s criticism of Clinton, the party front-runner, she hinted the Vermont senator is not being taken as seriously, adding that Clinton is aligned with the establishment.

“I think that a lot of things that Secretary Clinton and her campaign and her surrogates are saying about Bernie could damage him if he’s the nominee and nobody’s talking about that. I find that interesting,” Sanders said.

The campaign will continue to embody its non-abrasive strategy and share the candidate’s plan for a political revolution. She said the more Bernie is able to share his message, the more it resonates with voters and is one of the reasons he has won in eight of the past 10 primaries.

The recent victories has put the non-establishment candidate in an “enviable position,” even if the path to the nomination is “narrow.”

The Democratic socialist’s team expects to win in upcoming primaries in progressive states, including California, Oregon, Rhode Island and Connecticut, Sanders said.
