Authorities say they have arrested the man responsible for setting off a pipe bomb at a Potomac home.
The device was detonated at a home on at 9214 Inglewood Drive at about 9:15 p.m. on March 16. Farzin Sadeghi, 68, was taken into custody Thursday morning in Marshall, Va., according to Montgomery County fire and rescue officials.
Officials said search warrants were executed at homes were Sadeghi lived in Marshall and in Gaithersburg.
Assistant Chief Scott Graham said Sadeghi would be extradited to Montgomery County. Graham wouldn’t say how Sadeghi was linked to the explosion or whether he knew the people who live in the home.
Graham also wouldn’t say if investigators received tips about a distinctive necklace found at the crime scene, which authorities publicized in hopes that someone would recognize it.
No one was home at the time of the blast, which broke a front window and caused minor damage inside the home.
