Donald Trump doubled down on calling for a ban on Muslims, attacking Hillary Clinton for welcoming migrants from Middle Eastern countries if she becomes president.
Trump also said in a statement Sunday that if Clinton refuses to say the words “radical Islam” then “she should get out of the race for the Presidency.” Trump has previously called for a ban on all Muslims entering the U.S., a policy that has earned condemnation from many in both parties.
He tweeted on Sunday reaffirmation of the ban, saying that the Orlando attack that killed 50 people and injured 53 “is just the beginning.”
“I called it and asked for the ban,” Trump tweeted. “Must be tough.”
What has happened in Orlando is just the beginning. Our leadership is weak and ineffective. I called it and asked for the ban. Must be tough

Trump also called on President Obama to step down because he refused to say the words “radical Islam” in connection with the Orlando shootings, saying that the U.S. “can’t afford to be politically correct anymore.”
In his statement, Trump called out Clinton over Middle Eastern migrants. He said that the U.S. admits more than 100,000 migrants from the Middle East each year.
“Since 9/11, hundreds of migrants and their children have been implicated in terrorism in the United States,” his statement said. “Hillary Clinton wants to dramatically increase admissions from the Middle East, bringing in many hundreds of thousands during a first term — and we will have no way to screen them, pay for them, or prevent the second generation from radicalizing.”
So far the U.S. has admitted nearly 785,000 refugees since 9/11 and only about a dozen have been arrested or removed from the U.S. due to terrorism concerns, according to a State department spokesperson speaking to the Washington Post.
