YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) — Officials at Empire City at Yonkers Raceway say they’d think about building a convention center.
A state deal to build one in Queens recently fell apart.
According to the Journal News (http://lohud.us/JYwyQy ), the Yonkers racetrack says a convention center could be part of its plans as it seeks state approval to open a full-scale casino.
The track also is developing a proposal to add a big hotel and an arena if it gets the casino go-ahead.
Yonkers Raceway currently has about 5,000 video-lottery terminals.
