Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) will be joined by his wife, Casey DeSantis, in a network appearance in the coming days as the GOP presidential hopeful continues campaigning along the 2024 election trail.
NBC News announced that the interview will be televised on Monday, Aug. 7, on the Today show, with an additional airing on NBC’s Nightly News with Lester Holt.

“DeSantis’s first network interview will take place amid questions about the strength of his candidacy, ongoing attacks from the former president, and as he attempts to shift from campaigning as an incumbent governor to an insurgent candidate,” a statement from NBC News reads.
Casey DeSantis, the first lady of Florida, has been on the receiving end of criticism over some of her public stances, such as education and parental rights in the Sunshine State, all the while continuing in a reported role as a main adviser to the White House hopeful.

The DeSantis team also came under scrutiny for its recent firing of more than two dozen staffers, in addition to the shake-ups among some of its top leadership brass.
DeSantis trails behind the leading Republican front-runner, former President Donald Trump, according to recent polling.
