Snyder man gets 99 years for killing daughter, 26

SNYDER, Texas (AP) — A West Texas man has been sentenced to 99 years in prison for the 2012 fatal shooting of his daughter as she tried to protect her wounded mother.

A Scurry County jury on Friday ordered the maximum penalty for 54-year-old James Robert Smith of Snyder over the deadly domestic incident.
