Weapons charge for Prince William cop

A Prince William County police officer is now facing a firearms charge in connection with an assault allegation made last month.

Officer Charles Kinchloe, 25, was charged with domestic assault and battery last month. A 22-year-old Gainesville woman said she was assaulted during an argument with Kinchloe. The woman didn’t require medical treatment.

Prince William County police said investigators recently learned that Kinchloe also brandished a gun at the woman. He was charged with brandishing a firearm this week.

Kinchloe has been on the police force for three years. His police powers have been suspended.
