Terry McAuliffe is officially the Democratic nominee for governor of Virginia after the party certified his petitions Tuesday.
No other Democratic candidate filed for the race at the State Board of Elections before last week’s deadline. McAuliffe turned in 35,746 signatures last week, more than three times the legal requirement of 10,000.
