Burger King roasts Trump for Twitter typo: ‘We’re all out of hamberders’

Fast food chain Burger King joked Tuesday that it had sold out of “hamberders” after President Trump misspelled its popular menu item on social media.

“[D]ue to a large order placed yesterday, we’re all out of hamberders. just serving hamburgers today,” Burger King tweeted via its official account.

Earlier Tuesday, Trump bragged about buying Clemson’s national championship-winning football team dinner during a White House visit Monday celebrating the Tigers’ 44-16 win last week over Alabama. The spread included food from McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Burger King and was paid for by the president, given many White House staff members are furloughed due to the ongoing partial government shutdown.

“Great being with the National Champion Clemson Tigers last night at the White House. Because of the Shutdown I served them massive amounts of Fast Food (I paid), over 1000 hamberders etc. Within one hour, it was all gone. Great guys and big eaters!” Trump originally wrote before deleting it and posting a corrected tweet.

During the event, Trump explained to the team and their guests how he came to the unusual catering arrangement.

“I had a choice, do we have no food for you because we have a shutdown or do we give you some little quick salads that the first lady will make along with the second lady, they’ll make some salads,” the president said. “And I said you guys aren’t into salads.”
