Trump imagines ‘beautiful sight’ of patrons shooting Mateen

Donald Trump says it would have been a “beautiful sight” if a patron at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando shot assailant Omar Mateen.

“If we had people where the bullets were going in the opposite direction, right smack between the eyes of this maniac,” the GOP presumptive presidential nominee said, whipping a crowd at a Texas rally Friday night into a frenzy. “That would’ve been a beautiful, beautiful sight, folks.”

Mateen killed 49 patrons at the club last Sunday morning in the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

He added “And this son of a b—-h comes out and starts shooting, and one of the people in that room happened to have [a gun] and goes boom, boom. … You know what? That would have been a beautiful, beautiful sight, folks.”

Trump used last week’s shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando to play up his support for gun rights.

“We’re going to save your guns,” Trump told thousands gathered in a hotel ballroom in Houston. “They’re not going to take away your bullets. They’re not going to shorten up your magazines. They’re not going to do anything.”
