Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., said he told President-elect Trump on Friday that he is eager to work in the Senate next year to implement his agenda.
“I am so excited about the … potential direction of our country,” Perdue said. “I just had a great meeting with the president-elect and his team, and I committed my position in the Senate to full support by getting this 100-day plan executed.”
Perdue said “job one” is creating jobs, including by approving pipeline projects and easing federal regulations.
“Then we’re talking about things like getting money flowing back to small communities and small businesses,” he said. “Repatriation tax, this whole tax package that they’re working on right now, is geared up to get people back to work.”
Among Trump’s earlier priorities are repealing Obamacare and boosting enforcement of U.S. immigration laws. From there, Trump is hoping to advance a Republican tax reform proposal.
