The folks at the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum have been looking forward to this weekend since the beginning of the year.
“We’ve been working on this since the spring,” said Stefanie Hare, B&0 spokeswoman. “This is one of our biggest events of the year.”
The B&0 expects 2,500 visitors to attend this weekend’s 3rd Annual Kids Fest, Hare said.
The weekend will feature performances by the kid-friendly band Milkshake, moon bounces, kiddie train rides and face painting.
There will also be an “All Aboard” calling contest for the kids.
The B&0 Railroad Museum includes the oldest and most comprehensive collection of railroad history in the Western Hemisphere.
The museum’s staff works to develop programs and events like Kids Fest to broaden and deepen appreciation for the past, present and future significance of the railroad industry in the development of American life, especially in Baltimore.
“It’s all about celebrating railroads in general,” Hare said.
