State Dept. asks FBI for emails Clinton didn’t hand over

The State Department has formally asked the FBI if it could have any of the emails that Hillary Clinton failed to turn over to her former department, but that FBI agents were able to recover from her wiped server.

“I can confirm that we sent a letter to the FBI requesting that,” State Department spokesman John Kirby said Tuesday. “To the extent the FBI recovered former Secretary Clinton’s work-related emails that were not in the group of emails she provided to the State Department in December of 2014, that they provide us with such emails.”
