A former housekeeper sued a Tanzanian diplomat Wednesday, claiming she worked for years without pay and under inhuman conditions.
Zipora Mazengo said the diplomat, Alan S. Mzengi, and his wife brought her to the United States, forced her to work 16-hour days and refused to allow her to leave the house alone or speak to anyone outside the family, according to the lawsuit. She said she escaped the Maryland home in 2004.
