Donating toys is for squares — at least in Alexandria on Sunday. The City of Alexandria will hold its 37th Annual Toys for Tots Benefit Square Dance from 1 to 5 p.m. at Lee Center Exhibit Hall on 1108 Jefferson St. The “Almost Heaven at Thirty-Seven” themed dance will even feature a special performance by Capital Squares Demonstration at 3 p.m. Couples should donate a new, unopened toy or make a $10 minimum contribution ($5 for singles). The toys will be distributed to children in the Washington Metropolitan area. For those who would rather not don cowboy boots, you can drop off your donation until 3 p.m. at the Lee Center. –Leigh Giangreco
