Fairfax police seek serial cutter

Fairfax County police are looking for the man who has been cutting young women in retail stores.

Police say the man is suspected in at least five incidents. The most recent happened Monday, when a man cut an 18-year-old woman at the Forever XXI store at the Fair Oaks Mall at about 5:30 p.m., police said.

The woman suffered an 1.5-inch cut to her buttocks, police said.

The man is believed to be using a box cutter or razor. All of the victims have been in their teens or early 20s.

Police on Tuesday described the suspect as Hispanic, in his late 20s, about 5-foot-6 and having a heavy build. At the time of the assault, he was wearing white shorts and a short-sleeve shirt.
