Vets getting some holiday help

Five military veterans living in Northern Virginia are receiving more than $30,000 in home improvement services this week as part of the Decorate-A-Vet program. It was started last year by the owner of Falls Church’s Classic Stonescaping & Gardens, Jeffrey Jones, who grew up in a family of veterans and wanted to help other veterans beautify their homes for the holiday season. Seven local companies are donating more than 400 hours of work time, doing tasks such as landscaping, housecleaning and home repairs and modifications. Joining with Decorate-A-Vet this year is Angie’s List Wishmakers.
