Ohio Gov. John Kasich appears to be suffering great anguish from Donald Trump becoming the GOP’s presumptive nominee.
Confronted with questions about the pledge he took to support the Republican nominee for president, Kasich said he’s not prepared to board the Trump train.
“It’s painful, it’s painful. People even get divorces,” Kasich told MSNBC when asked about his pledge. “I mean sometimes things come about that, look I’m sorry that this has happened but I mean we’ll see where it ends up, I’m not making any final decision yet but at this point, I just can’t do it.”
Kasich grew irritable when asked what Republican leadership in Congress should do in regards to Trump, and would not give advice, but reiterated that Trump needs to change.
“I’ve been a Republican all my life, how do you think I feel about this?” Kasich told MSNBC angrily.
Kasich’s decision about whether to ‘divorce’ the GOP could pose problems for the Republican Party as it prepares to host its convention in the Ohio governor’s home state next month.
