Omarosa: Kellyanne Conway is a ‘calculated swamp monster’

Former White House official Omarosa Manigault Newman’s new book says her former colleague, Kellyanne Conway, is a fraud who only rooted for Trump after she left Sen. Ted Cruz’s team.

“I’d marveled at the speed with which Kellyanne’s allegiance changed during the campaign,” she wrote in “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House.” “While working for the Cruz super PAC, she criticized Trump daily and called his integrity and character into question. And then, when she changed camps, she was gung-ho for him.”

Conway served as the Trump 2016 campaign manager in the final stretch of the election season and now serves as a senior counselor to the president, while often appearing on TV to defend him from critics.

In the book, which the White House has cast as a work of fiction by an embittered former aide, Manigault Newman calls Conway a “calculated swamp monster” and a “chameleon” who can “change her camouflage depending on which candidate she supported or which room she was in.”

Conway did not return a request for comment Monday from the Washington Examiner.
