Netanyahu jabs Obama on Facebook for Western Wall flip-flop: ‘Seriously?’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took a jab at President Obama on Facebook on Wednesday, suggesting he changed his attitude toward the Western Wall, the Jewish holy site in Jerusalem, since first running for president.

A message posted Wednesday on Netanyahu’s page showed a picture of Obama at the site during his 2008 presidential campaign. It then read, “2016: UN calls the Western Wall ‘occupied Palestinian territory.’ Seriously?”

The post comes as the Israeli government and the Obama administration have been in a fierce public dispute after the U.S. allowed the U.N. to pass a resolution that declares Israel is illegally occupying territory, including the section of Jerusalem that includes the Western Wall. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry followed up the vote with a speech on Wednesday further condemning Israel.
