A school bus in southern Missouri ran off the road Tuesday, injuring 20 people.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, which involved a school bus from the Koshkonong School District carrying high school students from a basketball game, KY3 reported.

The incident occurred at 11:15 p.m. local time, when a bus driver drove off the road on State Highway 99. The bus crossed the highway and collided with trees before falling on its side, according to the outlet. The cause of the incident is not immediately clear.
The bus driver was unscathed from the accident, but 18 students and two adults were treated for various injuries, KY3 reported. Most of the injured were treated at Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains, and one student was treated at Baxter Regional Medical Center, according to the outlet.
“All families of the students involved were notified. Students and staff with injuries were taken to the hospital for treatment,” the Koshkonong School District said in a statement, according to Ozark Radio News. “We are so thankful that everyone has been medically released. We will have counselors available for any student who needs assistance during this time. The district’s protocols for bus accidents are being implemented. Superintendent Bryant thanks everyone in the community for their thoughts and concerns.
