Police have identified a suspect in a February burglary at a Manassas jewelry store, and are asking for the public’s help in finding him.
Manassas police said 48-year-old Haywood Purnell Jr., whose last known address was on the 9200 block of Prescott Ave., is accused of smashing out the front glass at Ashby Jewelers, located at 9407 Main Street, at about 3:50 a.m. on Feb. 18.
He allegedly stole about 40 watches, valued at about $6,000. He is wanted on charges of burglary and grand larceny.
Purnell is described as a black man who is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 280 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.
