An alleged “insider attack” in Afghanistan killed one U.S. service member and wounded two others on Saturday.
The NATO-led Resolute Support Mission announced the details of the attack in a press release on Saturday. The two wounded soldiers are currently in stable condition, but the names of all three casualties will not be released for 24 hours, per Defense Department policy.
The attack is under investigation and more information will be presented as it comes available.
Under the command of U.S. Army Gen. John Nicholson Jr., the Resolute Support Mission oversees roughly 13,000 NATO troops and affiliated personnel operating in Afghanistan.
