White House adviser Kellyanne Conway complained Monday morning about the Emmys being politically slanted against President Trump.
“They got plucked and polished and waxed and some of them didn’t eat for two months and all for what? To sound the same? And they have a right to speak,” Conway told “Fox & Friends.” “Between the Emmys, the Miss America pageant was very politicized, our sports are very politicized and it looks like the ratings are suffering. It looks like America is responding by tuning out because they want you to stick to your knitting.”
The 69th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert, was littered with political references as several celebrities took aim at Trump.
“You’re showing the world that you are so easy with an insult about our leader,” Conway said. “I think that’s really unfortunate, actually.”
Conway did, however, enjoy former White House press secretary Sean Spicer’s surprise appearance, calling him “a man of good humor.”
“This is something that a lot of folks in Hollywood sometime lack, which is introspection and good humor,” Conway said of Spicer mocking his infamous inauguration crowd size declaration.
