Sprint introduces 4G in D.C. Sprint Nextel Corp. has officially begun offering 4G service in the Washington market, more than two years after debuting the WiMax network in Baltimore.
Washington is one of six new markets getting Sprint’s 4G service, including Los Angeles, Miami, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio, bringing the total number of cities with Sprint’s 4G service to 68.
Sprint’s WiMax service may soon face competition from Verizon Wireless, which is expected to start selling its 4G service as early as next month.
