D.C. students to root, root, root for the home team

If you hit Nationals Stadium on Wednesday evening, you’re sure to notice flocks of D.C. Public Schools students in the stands: It’s the school system’s high school night at the ballpark.

Buy them some peanuts and crackerjacks, and whether or not they care if they get back, be sure they do — the kids have a school year to finish.

Each school’s valedictorian will be recognized on the field, along with this year’s championship baseball team, during pre-game ceremonies.

Students have been encouraged to wear their school colors and team T-shirts, so if you’re a DCPS alum yourself, let those alma mater colors fly.
