Americans most frequently associate the word “idiot” with President Trump, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll.
Asked, “what is the first word that comes to mind when you think of Donald Trump?” the top response was “idiot,” followed by “incompetent” and “liar.” The word “leader” was fourth. The first positive adjective, “strong,” didn’t come until the seventh top response.
Quinnipiac surveyed 1,078 voters nationwide from May 4-9.
Below is a breakdown of the responses; the figure associated with each word is the number of times each response was given, not the percentage. Quinnipiac only reported words that received at least five mentions.
