President-elect Trump named two additional appointments to his executive team on Tuesday, including the former executive director of Mitt Romney’s transition planning team.
Trump tapped Christopher Liddell, former CFO of Microsoft and vice chairman of General Motors, to serve as director of strategic initiatives in his administration. Liddell has spent the past two months advising the president-elect on his Cabinet and senior-level appointments and authored a book on presidential transitions after working on the campaign of former GOP nominee Mitt Romney in 2012.
“It is an honor to take on this role for the president-elect and the country,” he said in a statement released by Trump’s transition team.
At the White House, Liddell will be responsible for generating policy ideas, working with experts in foreign and domestic affairs and providing counsel on a multitude of issues.
Trump has also named real estate developer Reed Cordish to serve as assistant to the president on intragovernmental and technology initiatives. Cordish will focus on boosting technological innovation and modernization in addition to overseeing task forces related to his efforts.
“Chris Liddell and Reed Cordish have led large, complex companies in the private sector, and have played instrumental roles throughout the transition,” Trump said in a written statement. “Their skill sets are exactly what is needed to effect substantial change, including system-wide improvement to the performance of the government.”
