Prince William County police have arrested a second corrections officer in an investigation of inappropriate contact with an inmate.
Fay Bonos, 32, of Manassas, was arrested Wednesday and charged with carnal knowledge of an inmate, according to the police department.
The arrest follows that of Maria C. Torres-Corbin, 48, of Fredericksburg, who also faces the felony charges after alleged inappropriate contact with same inmate.
The inmate had been released from the Adult Detention Center under electric monitoring surveillance when the incident occurred, according to police spokeswoman Officer Erika Hernandez.
Both Torres-Corbin and Bonos were part of a single investigation, which originated with a complaint from jail staff and is now closed, according to Hernandez.
A court date for both is scheduled for Oct. 4.
Adult Detention Center Superintendent Charles “Skip” Land could not be reached for comment Thursday.
