The Republican National Committee raked in $14.6 million in May, according to new fundraising figures from the party, setting a record for the month of May during a non-presidential year.
With its May haul, the party has raised $199.1 million this cycle and has $47.4 million cash-on-hand.
The RNC also has no debt.
“Americans are enthusiastic about President Trump and the Republican agenda and they want to see this great American comeback continue. We are building on that enthusiasm this cycle,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement. “We will have the biggest ground game in our party’s history. We are not leaving a single vote unturned and we are ready to defy the odds this November.”
McDaniel told the Ripon Society on Tuesday the RNC plans to raise $250 million to put into the November midterm elections and expressed confidence it would succeed.
“I think we’re absolutely going to hit that mark. We know it’s going to take those resources,” she said during the event.
