Celebrities are encouraging people to send cheer to military services members, their families and veterans worldwide at the Holiday Mail for Heroes.
With a goal of sending 1 million cards by Dec. 10, the American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes Inc. are joining efforts for the Veterans Day event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Red Cross national headquarters, 17th & D streets NW.
Cards designed by members of the Red Cross celebrity cabinet Amy Grant, Miley Cyrus, Jane Seymour and Phil McGraw will be displayed. Grant will perform at 2:30.
