In the waning moments of the presidential debate, Hillary Clinton hit Donald Trump for comments he made about women before his campaign, including calling a former Miss Universe contestant “Miss Piggy” and “Miss Housekeeping.”
The attack came after Trump said Clinton didn’t have “the look” of a president before saying she didn’t have the stamina.
“He tried to switch from looks to stamina, but this is a man who has called women pigs, slobs and dogs,” she said. “Someone who has said pregnancy is an inconvenience to employers, who has said women don’t deserve equal pay unless they do as good a job as men.”
“And then, one of the worst things he said was about a woman in a beauty contest — he loves beauty contests, supporting them and being around them — and he called this woman Miss Piggy and then he called her Miss Housekeeping, because she was Latina. Donald, she has a name, her name is Alicia Machado and she has become a U.S. citizen and you can bet she’s going to vote this November.”
Trump countered by insulting his old sparring partner, Rosie O’Donnell.
“Hillary is hitting me with tremendous commercials, some of it is set in entertainment, some of it is set in somebody who’s been very vicious to me, Rosie O’Donnell,” Trump said. “I said very tough things to her and I think everybody would agree that she deserves it and nobody feels sorry for her.”
