Ann Coulter said she’d feel optimistic if billionaires were “destroyed” and said they have “wrecked our country.”
Speaking at Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit over the weekend, she reflected on the Democratic debate in Los Angeles, telling the crowd there was at one “optimistic” takeaway from the event.
“If we’ve lost the country, my optimistic point is that, wow, were the Democrats attacking billionaires last night,” she said. “It really kind of perked me up, and I thought, ‘Well, if we lose our country, at least the billionaires will be destroyed, and since they wrecked our country, they deserve it.'”
Coulter, 58, tweeted a similar argument to describe her thoughts on the debate, writing, “I was so excited to see the Democrats hate billionaires, but then it turned out they hate all Americans.”

Buttigieg just crushed Liz Warren. But I’m LOVING the attacks on billionaires! You guys wrecked the country, so good luck in the NEW country!

Earlier in the interview with One America News Network’s Jack Posobiec, Coulter railed on the effect that immigration has had on communities in Wisconsin and throughout America.
“We’re losing everything, and I can’t understand why the rest of the country can’t notice what’s happening. It drove me crazy when I was campaigning,” said Coulter. “Americans just — I guess they are just so beaten down by accusations of racism that they refuse to consider what it means for the fate of the Republican party — forget the country and the culture, to have such huge masses of immigrants coming in from such different cultures.”
Coulter has carved out a niche in the right-wing movement by playing devil’s advocate to mainstream conservatism while gaining notoriety as an analyst with a penchant for attacking lax immigration laws in America.
In an August interview with the Washington Examiner, Coulter said that “[Trump] deserves to lose,” and that the libertarian-leaning Cato Institute was “cat’s-paws for big business.”
