Three Part Irony: Terrorism thrives as the CIA loans equipment to Climatemongers

In the wake of the Copenhagen Climate Conference, a terrorist made an attempt on the life of a Danish cartoonist. These events were unconnected, except for the irony. Of course, citizens in the air near Detroit recently had to foil the Christmas plot of a Nigerian terrorist with explosive underwear. Who knows what else Jihadis have in store for the innocents of the West? (Well, you’d hope the CIA has some idea.)

Given all this terrorist activity, why is the CIA diverting resources from terrorism to climate change? This is not a joke. There were already serious questions about the CIA’s Center for Climate Change and National Security. Now we have this lede, according to The New York Times:

The nation’s top scientists and spies are collaborating on an effort to use the federal government’s intelligence assets — including spy satellites and other classified sensors — to assess the hidden complexities of environmental change. They seek insights from natural phenomena like clouds and glaciers, deserts and tropical forests.

Surely you jest, Mr. President. This three-part irony more than suggests how out of touch the current Administration is, not only with the priorities of the American People, but with reality. One wonders how many of these resources will fall into the hands of members of the cabal bent on “hiding the decline” and “trick” -ing the data. One also wonders how many fewer resources the CIA will have to gather intelligence about real existential threats. Instead of ensuring our security, our government is now bent on rationalizing the largest tax increase in history so as to shower its supplicants. It’s a strange new decade, indeed.
