Obama departs for Vietnam, Japan

President Obama left the White House shortly before 1 p.m. on Saturday and is headed toward Asia.

Obama will visit Vietnam and Japan, including a stop in Hiroshima — the first by any American president. It remains unclear whether Obama will address the debate over the justification for dropping the bomb during World War II. The White House has said Obama does not intend to issue an apology, though.The president will stop first in Alaska for refueling.
