Anthony Scaramucci: Trump-Sessions debacle ‘will resolve itself over the next week or so’

Anthony Scaramucci, the incoming White House communications director, predicted that the debacle surrounding President Trump’s relationship with Attorney General Jeff Sessions will end soon.

“I think this will resolve itself over the next week or so,” he said in an interview on BBC on Wednesday.

Over the past week, Trump has expressed a lack of confidence in Sessions, stemming back to his decision to recuse himself from the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. His various comments and tweets about Sessions have stoked speculation that he may fire his attorney general or push him to resign.

When asked about it, Scaramucci wouldn’t say for sure whether Sessions would be forced out, explaining that it would be “inappropriate” for him to make any declarations about Sessions and that it ultimately is up to Trump. He did say Trump is a “tough person” who isn’t afraid of using the “bully pulpit” to advance his agenda.
