Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders called President Trump the “most dangerous president in American history” during an interview with CBS’s Norah O’Donnell.
During the interview, Sanders was asked about his checkered history with the former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. “She said that you foster a toxic culture in your campaign where your prominent supporters — ‘Bernie bros’ — attack women. Will you denounce those attacks?”
“I have, of course,” Sanders said. Sanders, 78, chided Clinton’s attacks, saying her rhetoric made it more difficult for the Democratic Party to unite around defeating Trump in the 2020 presidential election.
Sanders also said it’s been “quite a while” since last speaking to Clinton, 72, but reminded her that she promised to support the Democratic nominee, whoever it may be.
“Secretary Clinton did indicate, and I was glad to hear this, that she would support the Democratic nominee. And if that’s me, I’ll look forward to her support.”
