CNN contributor Ana Navarro filed her nails during a segment on immigration Wednesday night.
She briefly brought out the file as CNN host Chris Cuomo and Steve Cortes, who served on Trump’s Hispanic Advisory Council got into an argument over the criminality rates of people crossing into the U.S. from Mexico.
“Yes there are [conflicting reports], that’s fake news,” Cortes said of illegal immigrant crime rates. Cuomo interjected: “It’s fake news for you to inject BS and say that it’s equal to the real data.” Cortes replied: “It’s not BS. Even if I were to grant you that, OK, the point is the illegal alien crime rate should be zero.”
At this point, Navarro appeared agitated, sighed, and pulled out a nail file.

Cortes accused Navarro of being disrespectful. “You can do your nails,” Cortes said to Navarro. “You know who can’t do their nails? Are people who have been killed, Ana, by dangerous, known illegal aliens who have been allowed to stay in this country because of the leftist policies that people like you promote.”
Navarro said that she was tired of being called a “leftist.” Cortes shot back: “I don’t care if you’re tired of it. Go back to filing your nails,” Cortes said.
Nicaragua-born Navarro, 47, has worked as a strategist for establishment Republicans, including Sen. John McCain during his 2008 presidential campaign and Jon Huntsman for his short-lived 2012 bid for the White House, when she was his National Hispanic Co-Chair. Based in Miami, she is close to Gov. Jeb Bush and Sen. Marco Rubio and backed Bush during his 2016 campaign primary campaign against Trump. Since Trump’s election she has become a vocal and unrelenting detractor of the president.
