A growing number of Republican lawmakers are calling on North Carolina GOP Rep. Madison Cawthorn to “name names” after he claimed politicians invited him to an orgy and used hard drugs.
First among those daring Cawthorn to spill the beans is Pennsylvania GOP Rep. Scott Perry, chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, a group that counts the 26-year-old congressman as a member.
“I think it is important, if you’re going to say something like that, to name some names,” Perry told Politico.
The report said Perry plans to speak with Cawthorn about the comment. The same goes for House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who reportedly assured frustrated colleagues in the GOP conference that he would talk to Cawthorn.

However, he didn’t mention it, and the matter did not come up during an interview Tuesday evening with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
“It does paint the picture here that isn’t accurate,” said Texas GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw, according to the Daily Beast. “Name names. Let’s see who he hangs out with.”
Cawthorn, the youngest member of Congress and who has sparked a number of controversies since first being elected, made the allegations during an appearance on the Warrior Poet Society podcast with host John Lovell after he was asked how realistic the Netflix series House of Cards is.
Noting that there is “sexual perversion that goes on in Washington,” Cawthorn alleged he had been propositioned by politicians he’s “looked up to” in his life.

“Then, all of a sudden, you get invited — ‘We’re going to have a sexual get-together at one of our homes. You should come,'” Cawthorn said. “What did you just ask me to come to? And then you realize they’re asking you to come to an orgy.”
Cawthorn also said there was widespread drug use by lawmakers who, in public, speak out against addiction. “Some of the people leading on the movement to try and remove addiction in our country,” Cawthorn said. “And then you watch them do a key bump of cocaine right in front of you. And it’s like, this is wild.”
