Megyn Kelly is ‘so sick’ of media blaming coronavirus outbreak on Trump

A journalist who sparred with President Trump ahead of the 2016 election came to his defense in the face of negative media coverage of his response to the coronavirus outbreak.

“I am so sick of seeking the news on Coronavirus and constantly getting bombarded w/how it’s all Trump’s fault or what Trump is calling the damn virus,” former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly tweeted on Wednesday.

Trump has faced blowback from the media and Democrats for his insistence on using phrases such as “Chinese coronavirus” and “Wuhan virus,” which he argues is to stress the believed origin of the illness. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton accused Trump of using “racist rhetoric” to deflect from the country’s lack of preparedness.

At Wednesday’s press briefing with the White House Coronavirus Task Force, Trump defied critics and opened his remarks by calling the disease the “Chinese virus.”

“Can we focus on what needs to be done right now and play the blame/political game later?” Kelly added in her tweet. “Good Lord.”
