Chevy Chase murder suspect had violent past

George Huguely V, the University of Virginia lacrosse player charged with killing his ex-girlfriend Yeardley Love, has a history that included a violent run-in with police and another alcohol-related arrest, court records show.

In November 2008, Huguely, 22, was arrested after threatening a female police officer outside a fraternity house at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Va.

One year earlier, Huguely was charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol in wealthy Palm Beach County, Fla., where his family has a $1.2 million estate in Manalapan, court records show.

On the night of Huguely’s 2008 arrest, Lexington patrolwoman R.L. Moss responded to a 911 call and found Huguely stumbling into oncoming traffic from a parking lot near a fraternity house, according to police reports.

Moss asked Huguely to call a friend for a ride home, but Huguely refused and threatened to kill her, Moff reported.

“He used colorful statements such as ‘I’ll kill all you bitches,’ ” Moss said.

Moss said she tried to restrain Huguely, and he fought back, becoming “more aggressive as the situation continued.”

After several minutes of struggling, Moss Tasered and cuffed Huguely.

“The Taser was crucial in getting him restrained” she said. “He continued to be combative even after placed inside the cruiser.”

Later that night, Huguely told a judge he did not recall being Tasered.

Huguely, 21 at the time, pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and public swearing/intoxication. On Jan. 20, 2009, he was sentenced to six months probation, substance abuse screening and 50 hours of community service, as well as court costs and fines.
