Donald Trump’s presidential campaign unveiled a new TV ad attacking Hillary Clinton’s “mud-slinging” insults to describe the GOP nominee’s supporters, Bernie Sanders acolytes and African American youth.
The ad shows Clinton using the insults “super predators” to refer to African Americans, “basement dwellers” for the Sanders supporters, and “deplorables” for Trump’s fans. Clinton has since expressed regret for these individual remarks.
“What elitist arrogance,” reads text onscreen at the end of the ad. “Say NO to Hillary Clinton.”
The 30-second ad is set to air on television in New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Trump trails Clinton in RealClearPolitics’ average of polling in New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, but holds a 0.7-percentage-point advantage in Ohio.
