A bridal outfit doesn’t trump prison

The Hagerstown woman who assaulted her neighbor in his home while wearing nothing but a bridal skirt and veil was sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Melissa Wagaman, 33, testified that she ended up at her neighbor’s house after hallucinating on cold medicine and marijuana. Wagaman said she believed she was getting married and her mother was locked in her neighbor’s basement.

A jury convicted Wagaman of second-degree assault, fourth-degree burglary and reckless endangerment for the February attack.

Prosecutors said Wagaman has a history of drug-induced crimes, including a 2007 conviction for fleeing and eluding police.

Wagaman apologized to her neighbors during her hearing.
